Crunchbase Analysis Flags $5M-$10M Seed Rounds in Proptech, Cancer, Space, Robotics
Crunchbase News examined approximately 800 global seed financings closed this year that fell in the $5 million to $10 million range. The review isolated four sectors receiving multiple rounds of this size: proptech, cancer therapeutics, space tech and robotics.
Proptech
Real estate accounts for two-thirds of global net worth according to a McKinsey & Company estimate published a few years ago. Last year proptech startup investment totaled just over $10 billion according to Crunchbase analysis. Investors funded multiple $5 million to $10 million rounds for companies addressing planning and building efficiencies, rental operations and building power consumption. Standout companies in the sample of 15 include Hint, an AI-powered home management system, Optiml, a developer of software to support real estate decarbonization, and Krane, an AI-enabled construction supply chain platform.
Cancer Therapeutics

Investors backed multiple $5 million to $10 million rounds for developers of cancer therapeutics and diagnostics. Three California startups each secured $10 million rounds: Rybodyn, working on AI-driven discovery of undetected cancer targets, Vivere Oncotherapies, a developer of targeted therapies for solid tumors, and Valius Sciences, focused on cancer diagnostics.
Space Tech
Space tech drew a notable share of seed financings in the $5 million to $10 million range this year. A sample set of nine companies includes Lux Aeterna, focused on developing reusable satellites, InSpacePropulsion Technologies, focused on in-space propulsion systems, and Constellation Space, developer of an ML-native operations platform for satellite fleets.
Robotics
Robotics produced another set of seed rounds in the target range, with a sample of 18 companies funded this year. The sector showed the widest geographic spread, with startups from Asia, North America, Europe and Australia. Standouts include Somnia Lab, a developer of intimacy robots, Bubble Robotics, a maker of autonomous underwater robots, and Eternal.ag, focused on robots for greenhouse harvesting.
