Greenberg Traurig advises Ryman on $1.38B Grande Lakes Orlando acquisition

Greenberg Traurig said it represented Ryman Hospitality Properties in its approximately $1.38 billion acquisition of the fee simple interest in Grande Lakes Orlando Resort, which closed Sept. 1.

Greenberg Traurig, LLP represented Ryman Hospitality Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RHP), a lodging real estate investment trust (REIT), in its acquisition of the fee simple interest in Grande Lakes Orlando Resort for approximately $1.38 billion, according to PR Newswire. The press release said the transaction closed Sept. 1 and was announced Sept. 11, 2026, from Washington.

Transaction and asset details

Grande Lakes Orlando is a 409-acre luxury resort complex in Orlando, Florida, according to PR Newswire. The complex features a 1,010-room JW Marriott and a 582-room Ritz-Carlton, as well as a Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship golf course, the release said. The property also includes approximately 320,000 square feet of meeting and event space, according to the same announcement.

Operations and branding

Grande Lakes will continue to operate under the JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton brands managed by Marriott International, according to Ryman’s statement cited in the release. The PR Newswire announcement identified the acquired interest as the “fee simple interest” in the resort.

Ahuja also said, “Grande Lakes Orlando is a premier destination, and this acquisition reflects Ryman’s continued focus on high-quality hospitality and meeting experiences,” the release stated.

The Greenberg Traurig deal team was led by Washington, D.C. Shareholder and Hospitality Practice Co-Chair Nelson F. Migdal, New York Real Estate Shareholder Josh Farrell, and Dallas Real Estate Of Counsel Callie Anne White, in addition to Ahuja, according to the announcement.
