BTG Pactual Bolsters Performing Credit Capabilities
BTG Pactual Global Alternatives has expanded its performing credit business by hiring two senior executives, Vincent Ingato as senior portfolio manager and Brian O’Leary as co-head of research, as the firm’s $10.9bn alternatives arm continues to scale its credit investment capabilities across developed markets. These hires follow the appointment of Chris Allen as head of performing credit in late 2025, according to Private Equity Wire.
New Appointments and Roles
Ingato brings more than 30 years of experience in leveraged finance and collateralised loan obligation (CLO) portfolio management, with previous roles at Jefferies Credit Partners, ZAIS Group, and CVC Credit Partners. In his new position, he will oversee portfolio construction and management for CLO strategies as well as lead US loan trading and execution. O’Leary, who joins from ZAIS Group where he served as managing director in leveraged finance for over a decade, has also held senior positions at Credit Industriel et Commercial (CIC) and Fuji Bank; as co-head of research, he will lead fundamental credit analysis and shape the firm’s research process for performing credit investments.
Team Integration and Responsibilities
Both Ingato and O’Leary will sit on the platform’s investment committee, where they will contribute to decisions on portfolio construction, risk management, and investment strategy, building on the team that has been steadily developed over the past year. This reinforcement aligns with the firm’s efforts to enhance its performing credit platform, as noted in the report from Private Equity Wire. As widely known in the alternatives sector, such expansions often reflect broader trends in private credit growth driven by institutional demand.
Leadership Perspectives and Firm Focus
Chris Allen, head of performing credit at BTG Pactual Global Alternatives, stated that the appointments strengthen the platform’s expertise across credit markets and support its ambition to build a scaled CLO business. Gerrity Lansing, head of BTG Pactual Global Alternatives, described the hires as an important step in expanding the firm’s credit platform and reflecting its focus on building institutional-scale investment capabilities. The firm manages a range of alternative strategies across the US and Latin America, including private credit, private equity, and real assets, with a focus on institutional investors globally and strategies in senior secured lending and other performing credit markets, according to Private Equity Wire.
